Danish Cartoonist attacker Jailed

The attacker, who was found guilty of attacking the house of the Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard who caricatured the Prophet Muhammad, was jailed to nine years by the decision of the Danish court.


The attacker, Mohamed Geele was 29 years old and he is from Somali. He was convicted of attempted murder and terrorism. His attack was a planned one according to the court.
As his sentence ends, he is possibly to be face to face with deportation to Somalia. The maximum penalty was a life-long sentence. His defense lawyer asked for a six-year sentence.
