Afghan Official Blames NATO for Killing 7 civilians
A local government official in eastern Afghanistan reports NATO force killed seven civilians in a midnight raid.
Khost provincial council member, Gul Mohammad Zazi, says international troops stormed into Matoon village on the outskirts of Khost city overnight and opened fire into the windows of houses.
A neighbor, Asif Khan, says six people were killed and all of them were civilians. There was a teacher and two students among the dead, says Sayed Musa Majro, a spokesman for local schools
NATO spokesman Capt. Justin Brockhoff said Thursday a NATO troops killed insurgents in an operation in Khost province, but he did not say how many people were killed.
