Italian Researchers: Mona Lisa Model Was a Male

Italian researchers, whose profession is in the field of resolving mysterious art, have said having discovered the mysterious model of Da Vinci's Mona Lisa.

They claimed that he was a man. Silvano Vinceti stated that Da Vinci's male apprentice Salai could possibly be the main inspiration for the picture. Later on, his claim was immediately discussed by the specialist in Louvre, where the picture is exhibited.
Salai was an effeminate young artist. They worked together for 25 years and they had an ambiguous relationship.  "Maybe, they were lovers." said Vinceti.

The more of it is that, the team claims to have found some evidence on that topic. They said that Da Vinci had left some clues to reveal model's identity. These evidences are tiny L and S letters painted on the eyes of Mona Lisa.

But, these claims have been completely rejected by Louvre Museum. The museum claimed that they had made all kinds of laboratory tests and experiments and could find no evidence. And museum said that Vinceti had claimed all these without experimenting the painting itself.
