Cyclone Yasi Takes Aim at Queensland, Australia

The largest storm of this year in South Pacific, Cyclone Yasi now takes aim at Queensland, Australia.
Authorities   have began to evacuate the regions where Cyclone Yasi is expected to pass through. The storm has dumped 500mm of rain and wind speed  is recorded to be 300 kmph.

As Cyclone Yasi has moved in the region, crops have been totally destroyed. Trees and the other materials have been destroyed. At least 175.000 houses are reported to be face to face with power cuts. According to the authorities, this Cyclone-related destruction is neither catastrophic nor massive.

Two people are reported to be missing. As Queensland is an important region where banana and sugar is grown, now a rise is expected on the prices of banana and sugar.
