The End of the 25th Winter Universiade Games in Erzurum

The 25th Winter Universiade Games, which was held in Erzurum in Turkey, ended with a ceremony.


The ceremony took place in Erzurum's Cemal Gursel Stadium. Most of the Turkish ministers, deputies, officials and many celebritites attended this closing ceremony. In his statement, Turkish State Ninister Faruk Nafiz Ozak said that Turkey was happy and proud of having completed such an important event.
"Thanks to the Universiade, Erzurum has become one of the most important winter sports centers in the world," the minister also added. Erzurum governor also stated that no problem occurred during the games. The Erzurum Mayor told that Erzurum was ready to bigger events after the success they had gained in Universiade. Turkish University Sports Federation President Kemal Taner said that Universiade was a turning point in both winter sports and winter tourism in Turkey.

As the speeches ended, the games were ended officially. The closing ceremony, broadcast by Turkish State Channel, TRT, was watched in 80 countries. The next Universiade Games will take place in Slovenia. The Universiade Games is one of the most important sport events all over the world.
