UN: Tunisia Protests Left 200 Dead

According to a UN team statement, at least 219 people died during the protests that brought down Tunisia's President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali last month.

Among these 219 people, there were also 72 people who died in prison riots.Recently, the government said that there were 78 dead, but opposition stated that the figures were higher.
In Tunisia, after a month of protests, Tunisia's President Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali left the country and fled to Saudi Arabia. Protests are still ongoing although a unity government was set. What protesters want is that anyone who has links with ex-government should resign.

As Prime Minister Mohammed Ghannouchi has promised, elections will be held within six months.
