Saleh Asks: Are You the President of the World?

As Barack Obama accused the Arab leaders of their insensitivity and their responses and attititudes towards the regional unrest, Yemen’s President Ali Abdullah Saleh criticised Obama and asked him whether he was the president of the world.
Saleh was against the demands of the Washington that leaders should show restraint in handling the protests and demonstrations in the country.

“Every day we hear a statement from Obama saying ‘Egypt you can’t do this, Tunisia don’t do that’,”

“What do you have to do with Egypt? Or with Oman? … Are you president of the United States, or president of the world?”

On the other hand, Saleh is trying to form a unity government on Monday. But, it was rejected by the opposition.

“I will satisfy all of their demands, so far as it is within the power and capability of the state to do so,” he said.
