Mubarak Resigns Finally Handing Power to Army


At last, Hosni Mubarak resigns of his 29 year-old presidency and hands the power to military forces on Friday.


He resigned as a result of the 18-day protests by hundreds of thousands of people. Tens of thousand s of protesters outside of Mubarak's palace shouted as "The people ousted the president."


Hundreds of thousands of people were in Tahrir Square and they were full of joy after his resign. After the Vice President Omar Suleiman made the announcement on TV, celebratory shots were made and enjoyment began. 


On Friday, it was the most violent day of the protests, as the protesters were marching to his palace and besieging the palace. Nobel Peace laureate Mohammed ElBaradei told "The country has been liberated after decades of repression," and he added that he hoped better days. 


All the protesters are happy now, as Hosni Mubarak has resigned. But, they expect that democratic reforms be made and all their demands should be met.
